Definition and Causes of Cataracts

The largest cause of Blindness in the elderly is cataracts, that 60-70%. Whereas, with the proper handling of the cataract is curable and visions will be back as it was. 
The Cataract is a change which previously eye lens is clear and translucent light into murky waters. Senile cataract is cataract that occurs because of a degenerative process and usually occur at the age at the age of 60 years and above. 
The Cause Of Cataracts 
It is undeniable, cataracts have become a nightmare for the elderly. Although most cataracts do occur because of a degenerative process generally occurs in old age: at age 60 years and above. 
Cataracts can also occur in infants is called congenital cataracts because the mother was infected with a virus while pregnant young. 
Cataracts are caused by systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, use of certain medications, especially steroids in high doses and long periods of time, the eyes are exposed to the Sun or to ultraviolet in quite a long period of time without any protective gear, never done surgery or trauma and damage to the eye.
